Marriages in INDIA & it's importance?

What are the different types of marriages in INDIA and its influence?

Generally, marriage is the first step for two different people to start his/her life as THEIR LIFE instead calling it like earlier his/her own life.

Especially in India, there are different cultures and customs that are followed in different societies. In India, women are basically restricted to certain boundaries of home atmosphere and are not allowed more liberally like men to move in the society. When it comes to orthodox families it’s too worse where the women consensus is not at all considered as needed when it comes to marriage or about her own life or her education or other aspects etc.

Actually, marriages are of three types:

1. Arranged marriages

In India, the oldest type of marriage system is the arranged marriage, which is getting followed from the ages, the reason behind this is due to the culture the Indians follows to respect the elders and the traditional mindset which have paved the path for arranged marriages to happen mostly in India.

    • Advantages:

      • Bride and Bridegroom will have enough support morally and financially form either parties of the parents to face the difficult situations of their life.
      • Their kids will have grannie, grandpas & relatives to play and to take care of the children.

    • Disadvantages:

      • Bride and Bridegroom are unknown to each other unlike love marriages, this is the tough job for both the parties to understand the likes, dislikes, interests and other things which is time consuming and like very hectic to deal with it.
      • Mostly, newly married bride who comes from a different customs or cultures need to adopt the existing customs of the bridegrooms family which is little disgusting thing for her and most of the times it suffers the bride a lot.

2. Love marriages

Owing to the influence of western culture on eastern parts of the globe, in India love marriages are taking place in the well-developed societies’ on the other hand still the people are bit embraced to accept the love marriages in remote and rural areas due to their conventional mindset based on the community/caste they belongs too.

    • Advantages:

      • They are no-more strangers like the couple in arranged marriage, they were well aware of each other with respective to the mindset, tastes, desires, interests and qualities etc.
      • Couple can easily sail the boat of life if they have trust on each other without any difficulty.

    • Disadvantages:

      • In most of the love or elope marriages they will not have support neither morally nor financially from neither of the parents nor from the relatives.
      • Most of the times they have to depend totally on the friends/colleagues who would help for their marriage or neighbor’s residing currently with them for any difficulties or issues comes across in their life.

3. Love cum arranged marriages

Every type of marriage is having its own flaws and welfare's. Now, days are changing and the current Indian society in the state of transition to adapt the new trend by not leaving the custom old traditions or cultures or family values keeping it as high priority. By taking these things into consideration modern Indian society has figured out a new genre of marriage is called LOVE CUM ARRANGED MARRIAGES.

    • Advantages:

      • Here in this type of marriages newly married couple will have support from all the parties like parents, relative & friends etc.
      • Couple will have good understanding about each other as they are not strangers unlike the couple in arrange marriage.

Note:

  • There is no guarantee or any standard formula for any successful marriage.
  • When we can call a marriage as a successful marriage? Only when the couple led their life till the end of their life by balancing all the emotions, caring each other without losing love and affection on each other.
